How To Remove Wine From My Rug

Ho to remove wine from my rugHow to clean red wine stains from your rug and carpet

Having your family over for the holidays is always enjoyable until someone makes a mess that can be hard to clean up. Red wine is one of those messes that rugs do not enjoy!

Here are three simple steps that will help you in your area rug and carpet cleaning process.

Step 1: You are going to need to use a clean cloth (preferably white) to blot as much of the red wine stain up as you can out of the area rug. Focus on slowly working the stain and making sure to soak up as much as you can. The more of the stain you initially soak up, the less you’ll have to remove later with cleaning solutions.

Step 2: When you finish blotting the rug with your cloth, pour a small amount of cold water directly on the remaining red wine stain. Your goal is now to dilute what remains of the stain. This will also make blotting the remaining rug stain easier. Continue blotting the area until no more stain comes out.

Step 3: Now prepare a baking soda paste by mixing a three to one ratio of water to baking soda and applying it to the affected area. Once the paste is dry, gently vacuum the stain.
